Lauro Golf celebró el pasado 8 de septiembre por octavo año consecutivo el ya tradicional Trofeo Benéfico Cudeca con el objetivo de recaudar fondos para dicha fundación.

CUDECA es una institución creada para proporcionar “cuidados especializados” en Cuidados Paliativos, a enfermos oncológicos en fase no curativa, apoyando también a la familia durante la enfermedad y en el proceso de duelo. Esta fundación sin ánimo de lucro ha conseguido ayudar en pocos años a miles de enfermos con la colaboración de un cualificado voluntariado de diversas nacionalidades, residentes en la Costa del Sol.

Tan magnífica es la labor desarrollada por esta institución que Joan Hunt, la fundadora de Cudeca, fue galardonada en 2002, por su Alteza Real la Reina de Inglaterra con el “Order British Empire”; y más recientemente en 2006 ha obtenido el apoyo de la familia real española con la inauguración del centro de cuidados paliativos de mano de la Infanta Doña Cristina.

Lauro Golf también ha querido contribuir en esta labor y ésto ha sido así gracias al generoso apoyo de más de 60 participantes, principalmente socios del club, que aportaron su granito de arena por la causa donando el importe íntegro de la inscripción. La recaudación total fue de 1543 euros y fueron entregados en un cheque a Dª Laura Haggis, representante de CUDECA, de la mano de Alicia Pedraza y Sani Alba, caddy masters de Lauro Golf.

La modalidad de juego fue stableford y se distinguieron dos categorías según handicap, con premios para los tres primeros clasificados en cada categoría Hubo también una subasta de green fees y estancias de fin de semana con la que se consiguió aumentar la suma recaudada.

2ª - Jan Atack - 34 puntos
3ª - Shirley Ulliott - 33 puntos

Lauro Golf celebrates the VIII Cudeca Trophy

Lauro Golf celebrated last Saturday 8th September, for the eighth consecutive year, the tradicional Charity Cudeca Trophy with the aim of raising funds for this foundation.

CUDECA is an institution created to provide “specialized care” in Palliative Care to patients who will not be able to win their battle against cancer, with support to their family during the disease and after the loss of the loved one. This foundation who has offered palliative home care without cost to thousands of patients with the collaboration of the qualified international volunteering comunity residents in the Costa del Sol.

So great is the labour developed by this institution that Joan Hunt, President and Founder of Cudeca, was awarded the Honour of the British Empire – O.B.E. in the 2002, New Year Honour List for services to cancer care in southern Spain; and more recently in 2006 with the support of the Spanish Royal Family in the official inauguration of the Palliative Care Hospice with the visit of the Infanta Doña Cristina de Borbón.

Lauro Golf wanted to contribuye to this labour, raising funds with the generous support of more than 60 participants, mostly members of the club. All green fees were donated in a cheque of 1543 euros given to Mrs. Laura Haggis, representant of Cudeca by the caddy masters at Lauro Golf Alicia Pedraza and Sani Alba:

The modality of the game was stableford with two categories according to the handicap and prizes to the three best classified in each Category. Alter the prize giving an auction took place offering green fees and weekend stays which helped to increase the donation.
